I've written some posts that I thought for sure were going to be duds and they turned out to be pretty popular. Then again, I've written posts that I thought were going to put me in the Blogging Hall of Fame. I could even hear my readers chanting my name… If there isn’t a special formula or secret recipe, what can you do to help ensure a blog post will be successful? The best marketing insight I’ve received in the past 5 years Posted: 15 Apr 2014 03:00 AM PDT Over the past few years I have had the great fortune to meet and talk to some of the greatest marketing and business minds in the world. I have learned so much from them, but there is one single sentence from Dr. Robert Cialdini that continues to hang in my mind every single day. Although we had this discussion in 2012, his advice seems to grow more profound to me month by month. Dr. Cialdini is arguably the foremost academic and writer on the subject of power and influence in the world. His books include the best-selling classic Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion. While doing research for my book Return On Influence, I asked him, “Dr. Cialdini, in this information-dense world, how does a leader stand out?” His reply: “Be more human.” The more I have been immersed in this digital world, the more I am sure he is right. Ultimately people will buy from who they know, who they trust. That isn’t going to come from the best backlinks or the most optimized content. I think the most human content and the most human companies will win in this competitive world. Connecting in a human way builds trust. Trust builds loyalty. And loyalty trumps everything. As I work with diverse organizations ranging from Johnson & Johnson to the US Air Force, I keep hearing myself repeat those words over and over again. Be. More. Human.
The idea raises a lot of questions. I am trying to discern what it means for me … for all of us in this community really. Will the most human companies win? Will the most human blogs win? HOW TO: Bulk #Unfollow #Twitter Accounts Using #ManageFlitter [#tutorial] Posted: 15 Apr 2014 02:27 AM PDT Whether you've hit Twitter's "Follow Limits" (see image below) or just want to do a virtual scrubbing of your Twitter account, unfollowing people can be both a necessary and cleansing task. However, the last thing you want to do is manually unfollow people one by one. It would take hours. You have better things to do right? This tutorial will show you how to filter and unfollow multiple Twitter accounts all at the same time. Requirements:
01) Select A Free Twitter Admin ToolThere are several services that can help you manage your Twitter account and unfollow people. One of our favorites is ManageFlitter because they will allow you to bulk unfollow 100 accounts per day for free. Go to http://manageflitter.com/unfollow 02) Try It For FreeThe Pro version (I’m using) of ManageFlitter is $12 per month. For the purposes of this tutorial, we won't be using the Pro version (but I recommend you to buy it). Just click on the 'free trial' button to continue.
03) Sign InUse your Twitter account to sign in to ManageFlitter. 04) Unfollow Menu ItemSelect the Unfollow option from the Manage menu and wait for the system to process all of the data associated with your account. 05) Review "Unfollow" FiltersYou'll then be taken to a screen that has the ability to filter undesirable Twitter accounts the following ways:
After you are done reviewing the different option, then proceed to the next step. 06) Select "Fake Following"How you filter and who you choose to unfollow on ManageFlitter is entirely up to you. However, we recommend that you start with "Fake Following" and remove the spambots that you are currently following on Twitter. 07) Turn On "Batch Select" ToggleBatch Select allows you to preform actions to multiple accounts at the same time. We will use it to unfollow a group of undesirable Twitter accounts all at once. This will save you the hassle of unfollowing each account one at a time. Click on the toggle to turn on Batch Select. 08) Manually Select 100 AccountsRemember, the free version of ManageFlitter only allows you to unfollow 100 people per day. Don't click on "Select All Accounts" button. It won't work unless you upgrade to the Pro version of ManageFlitter. It's annoying, but you will have to individually select your free 100 accounts.Pick the accounts that you want to unfollow and then click on the "Unfollow XX Later" link under the Batch Select toggle. 09) Process NowAfter you add all of the accounts that you want to unfollow to the Batch, then click on the Process Now link. The 100 accounts that you want to unfollow will now appear on a screen. Unfortunately Twitter now requires that accounts be unfollowed manually. So you will have to click 100 times. It will just take a minute or so. ManageFlitter has an option to do this for you but it's not free. 10) That's it!You did it! You just trimmed some fat off of your Twitter account. Here are some of the things you'll discover in this show: EngagementFrom a writer to someone who specializes in engaging audiences Danny shares that he has been writing since childhood, and started a copywriting business when he was young. In 2006, he wrote his first book, Ordinary Miracles: Harness the Power of Writing to Get Your Point Across! In the book, he discusses his ideas about writing and how to write well. Although it's a great book, Danny didn't get the response he was looking for. The lesson he learned is that when you write copy, it's not actually about the words. You need to understand the people you want to connect with, and understand what matters to them. Danny's copywriting practice evolved over time into a marketing and strategy consultancy. You'll hear what happened when he attended local networking sessions that made him want to create a training program. Danny soon discovered that people who didn't have an audience wanted to know more about engagement; and therefore, he wanted to help them. He started to reach out to all of the experts who had built an engaged audience from nothing. With their input and perspectives, his new book, Engagement from Scratch! was created. Listen to the show to find out why it's important to be sensitive to other people's needs. Definition of engagement Since his latest book was published, Danny says that he has developed the insight that engagement is about the deep emotional investment that people have in what you are doing. If you think about Apple's customers, they are members of the Apple tribe. The fact that they use Apple's products actually says something about who that person is. It's a piece of their identity. Not only are these customers incredibly engaged, they are also invested in what Apple does. If the company were to betray the values they stand for, the response would be dramatic. They would feel like a friend had betrayed them. Danny says that the best model for conceptualizing engagement is by increasing the feeling of commitment through rewards over time. When someone discovers you for the first time, there is no connection, relationship or engagement. You have to give them something to keep them coming back. Make sure you give people an opportunity to provide you with their name and email address. Once they commit, you can reward them. You'll find out another great way to get people to invest some of their time and attention, which will help you build a relationship with them. It's important to stand out from the competition, and one way to do this is to answer emails personally. This puts you in a whole different category. To be a good email marketer, you need to have a double opt-in, a one-click Unsubscribe button and a high content-to-pitch ratio. You should offer a ton of value and ask for nothing in return. Once you have built up a relationship with your subscribers, it's far easier to ask for something in return. Listen to the show to find out how you can use a populated tweet to start a dialogue and get great responses. The reward Danny says that when people trust you, and you have earned their respect, it changes everything in your business. So when you have an offer, people buy from you. Your conversions go through the roof. A great example is when Danny did a webinar about 18 months ago, when he was a lot less experienced. Although the information was good, he bombed the webinar. It shouldn't have converted by any means, yet it made five figures in sales. The reason it did so well was that people knew and trusted Danny. They knew that whatever he was going to share was probably worth buying. When you are in constant contact with your audience, you know what they want. It takes a ton of the guesswork away. They share it all with you. You'll hear Danny explain what happened when Firepole Marketing went through a revamp, and why his audience was behind him, rather than complaining about the slightest fault. Listen to the show to hear what happens when Danny promotes affiliates on his site. Practical things you can do to start to improve your engagement Danny says that you can do engagement from scratch if you have no audience, or have an audience but no engagement. If you have an audience but lack engagement, the first thing he recommends you do is make sure that the emails you send out have your signatory on, so that subscribers can reply. Danny makes sure that there is always somebody on his team who can check emails and send a personal reply. It's a way for the person who receives the email to get to know the person who sent it. The second thing that you can do (and it's not just with email) is to end the message with a call to action. It doesn't always have to end with a "buy this" message. You'll discover the types of messages that you can include, which will encourage a response. The bottom line is that engagement is about relationships, and they are bidirectional. Listen to the show to find out why it's a special time in the history of this online world. How to manage it all Danny says that you have to start small. Some people don't understand why he spends a lot of his time every day answering emails, but he says it's what drives all of his sales. Last year alone, they had nearly $700,000 in sales. You can send out an email once a week. Not every email has to ask for a reply at the bottom either. Maybe once in a while ask for a response and build it up gradually. Let the people on your team contribute too. Although Danny interacts with many of his audience members, his team deals with the student-, customer- and audience-facing stuff. It's a great way for people get to know who Firepole Marketing is. Listen to the show to discover why return on investment (ROI) doesn't exist without the I. A successful engagement tip Danny says there are two ways you can look at building engagement. There is wide and shallow, and narrow and deep. Last summer, Danny and his team ran a Business Ignition Boot Camp, where 200 participants worked extensively with them for 6 weeks. Although the course was free, the applicants had to fill out a 45-minute application. During the course, they received a ton of homework. Danny says that it was a phenomenal experience, and people are still evangelizing about it today. Not only are they customers forever, but they have brought in new customers too. You'll hear about a scavenger hunt they did last year too, which will kick off again this month. You don't have to blanket all of the people who follow you. Instead you can aim at the most engaged, in terms of their engagement with and investment in you. You need to think about what you can do with them that can bring them into the fold and make them part of your family. Listen to the show to hear the importance of creating evangelists and why you can't pay for this kind of thing. Discovery of the WeekI have recently discovered that ClicktoTweet has changed, and it's now even better. When you first go to ClicktoTweet, it will ask you to log into Twitter. You can then generate your tweet. The result is a custom URL that you can embed or use as a forwarder. With the new updates, you can track the results of the tweets that you shared. It shows you the number of clicks and how many were unique. It even shows you on a timeline which day got the most clicks. You can also see on a map which countries the clicks came from. With this kind of data, you can do tweet-level analytics. It's exciting what you can do with this. There is also a WordPress plugin option, and although I've not experimented with it yet, I have downloaded it and read the code. It allows you to create a clickable box on your blog. You'll hear an example of how you can use this to drive traffic back to your blog. There is also another plugin in the WordPress.org plugins directory called Click To Tweet by Todaymade. I don't think these are from the same organization; however, this plugin creates a really nice box with text in it. If you think creatively, you can come up with some innovative uses for it. 6 Ways to Use Embedded Tweets to Help Your Business Posted: 15 Apr 2014 01:19 AM PDT Are you looking for creative ways to embed tweets on your website? Do you want to show off your customer's kind words about your business? Since Twitter allows the ability to embed tweets on websites, people have discovered lots of creative ways to use them. In this post, I'll show you six ways to use embedded tweets to enhance your content, drive engagement and establish social proof. How to Embed a TweetFrom sharing spontaneous customer testimonials to increasing traffic and promoting events, embedded tweets can capitalize on or support engagement with your brand in a number of ways. Before we get started, let's quickly review how to embed a tweet on your website. When you find a tweet you want to embed on your website, hover over that tweet and click on the More link. Then you should see an Embed Tweet option. When you click on Embed Tweet, you are prompted to copy the sharing code for the tweet. Then you paste the embed code in your website. If your site is on WordPress, use the HTML/Text editor. When you save or publish, you have a live, interactive tweet on your website.
Yes, it's that simple! Now, let's look at some ways to use embedded tweets. Here are some creative applications of embedded tweets: #1: Build Your Reputation With Customer TestimonialsThis is one of my favorite ways to use embedded tweets. For some businesses, it's tough to get fans to write personal or product recommendations on LinkedIn, send testimonials via email or otherwise profess their respect for a brand in long form. On Twitter, however, you generally find people who will take a quick moment to share their good experiences. Find potential testimonials by looking through mentions of your @username and a Twitter search of your business name or product. As you browse through your mentions, save the best tweets about your business by marking them as favorites. Once you find enough good mentions, add them to an existing or new testimonials page on your website, or scatter them in random places where you need social proof, like a sales page! #2: Back Up Your StatementsDon't let readers of your content wonder whether you made something up. Use embeddable tweets to cite sources and quotes. For example, if I were to write that having errors on your website that affect smartphone users may hurt your rankings in mobile search, you may wonder where I got that information. But if I included this…
Then, you would know how I came to that conclusion. As a writer, tweets from a reputable source help you quickly solidify content. And as a reader, they help you move from "Wait, that can't be true." to "What should I do about this?" #3: Encourage Retweets of Your MediaInstead of just embedding a video or SlideShare presentation directly on your webpage, why not share that content on Twitter and then embed the tweet with the media in it?
This way, people not only see the content on your site, but it's also easy for them to retweet it to their audience or reply to you with a comment. #4: Increase Website Traffic With a Tweet ChatWant to host a small Twitter chat or party on your own website to increase overall site traffic or page visits? Take embedded tweets a little further and add an embedded widget. For example, let's say you want to have a Twitter chat with the hashtag #socialmedia. Go to Twitter and search for #socialmedia. Then, change the filtering to All tweets, click on the settings wheel icon, and select Embed this search. When you configure your widget, be sure to turn safe search mode on to keep the conversation PG. Now, just copy the code and add it to your webpage. You're all set to invite people to come have a Twitter chat on your website. Note that the refresh rate on these widgets is not very speedy, so you would only want to do this with a slow chat and not something insanely popular or fast-moving. #5: Create Twitter Engagement for Blog PostsWant to get more Twitter engagement and perhaps some extra tweets for your blog content? Search Twitter for the URL of one of your blog posts. Change the filtering to All, and then click the settings wheel icon to embed the search. Then, embed it somewhere in your blog post. Tweets about "http://www.socialmediaexaminer.com/embedded-twitter-posts/" Right below the widget, tell users how they can click on the area to compose a new tweet, add a comment about the post and then include the link so their tweet also shows up in the widget. The result? A new way for people to engage with your content and more tweets for your post! Go ahead and try it here. Compose a new tweet in the widget above, copy the URL to this post (http://www.socialmediaexaminer.com/embedded-twitter-posts/) and paste it into the tweet with a comment! #6: Promote Your EventWhether you're marketing an upcoming event or showing off tweets from an event in progress, an embeddable tweet widget on your website does wonders for getting visitors excited. See this in action in the margin of the Social Media Success Summit page! One Thing to Consider… When using tweet widgets on your website, remember that any tweet containing those items is displayed. While Twitter removes any profanity or sensitive information, it won't necessarily remove spam or negative responses. So you definitely want to scroll through tweets to see what people are saying before you add them to your website, and continue to evaluate embedded tweets on an ongoing basis. What do you think? Improve Your Tweets#1: Share valuable content in your own voiceDo your best to craft your content tweets, @replies and promotional tweets all with a seamless style that matches your personality and/or brand. You just want to add value and have no agenda or attachment to "making the sale," yet you're strategic and mindful about how you tweet. The first is not finding just anyone to follow in hopes that they follow you back, but finding relevant people to follow who are more likely to follow you back. You can bloat your account to 100,000+ followers, but if they are not interested in your content, it gets you nowhere. Installing a Twitter button is really easy, it just takes copying and pasting the code, and inserting your username. I have two twitter follow buttons installed into the sidebar of this blog, feel free to use them if you want to see how they work. 52. Add Yourself to Twitter DirectoriesThere are directories like Twellow, wefollow, and several others where you can add your Twitter profile and get more followers. Wefollow is an especially helpful Twitter directory because it is the largest directory on the web. There are dozens of directories of Twitter users online, including Twiends, WeFollow, and Twellow, and more. Add yourself to as many directories as you can find under the proper categories, and you will begin to see some users following you from these sites. When someone follows you through one of these directories you will receive a notification email from Twitter – if you have these turned on. In these notifications you can see which directory they followed you through. If you're using Twitter Marketing software like TweetAdder you'll want to turn these notifications off because it gets annoying with a few hundred daily emails from Twitter. 53. Write Articles and Place your Twitter Name in the Signature BoxWrite articles on your topic of interest and place your Twitter name in the resource box. Submit these articles to places like EzineArticles.com and GoArticles.com. 54. Install a Twitter Widget into Your WebsiteDid you know that you can add a Twitter widget on LinkedIn that will display your recent tweets? There are many places online that will allow you to display a list of your latest tweets, and these widgets are a great source of new followers! You can get an official custom Twitter widget that works on any site where you can add custom code! I use publitweet widgets to embed my Twitter stream into my blogs, since these are more powerful than official Twitter widgets and import not only my tweets, but also a preview of the content that was shared if a link was tweeted. See the image to the right for an idea of what these look like, although the design is custom. 55. Link it UpThe more links you have to your twitter profile the more ways there are for people to follow you! This means online and offline, put a link to your Twitter profile everywhere you can. Link to Twitter from Facebook, from your blog, from your guest posts, from your videos, in your email signature, and anywhere else you can think of. Usually if you just put an "@" sign in front of your username people will understand that you are listing your Twitter name. 56. Write a Guest PostEven if you don't have a blog of your own, you can easily gain notoriety and followers by writing posts for other blogs. Running a blog is hard work, and most people and companies welcome well written posts to give them a break. If you do score an opportunity to guest post, link to your blog if you like, but be sure to link to your Twitter account as well. Want to learn more about guest posting? Funny and witty tweets retweet very well. Just check out favstar for some of the funniest tweets. @Badbanana and @shitmydadsays are always good for a laugh. 58. Advertise VacanciesIf your company of business is doing well, you can use your twitter account to advertise any vacancies that you may have. If twitter users realize that they may benefit from such opportunities, it is more likely that they will follow you in order to look out for your feed. Share opportunities with your followers and they will retweet and recommend you and this will lead to more followers. 60. Do PodcastsPodcasting is a great way to get attention, it showcases your expertise, and helps build an audience. Creating your own podcast is simple. All you have to do is download a program such as Audacity (or, if you're on a Mac, GarageBand works well.) Record your audio, edit out long pauses or background noise, and make sure to mention that people should follow you on Twitter! 61. Host a WebinarWebinars are online seminars, and can be a powerful way to build your brand and your Twitter following. A Webinar is a perfect medium to get more Twitter followers fast, since you can link directly to your Twitter account during and after the webinar for attendees. You can begin by creating a template for your slideshow that includes your Twitter information in the bottom right hand corner. Many attendees will automatically look in that corner of the presentation last, while listening to your information. Encourage Twitter users to follow you throughout the presentation, and talk about the benefits of the content you share on Twitter. If you plan on hosting a Q&A session ask people to follow you on Twitter and tweet their questions. Not only will this get you immediate followers from the participants, but their followers will see the questions being posed to you as well, and this can lead to more followers. The software I use to host my webinars is called anymeeting and it is free to use for up to 200 attendees. 62. Do customer support through TwitterNow, we're not suggesting you throw away your helpdesk, but add Twitter as a support channel. You may find that users are already tweeting questions at you. Most good helpdesk software already offers Twitter integration. Some people like posting support questions via Twitter, as they feel the public nature of it will lead to a faster response. Some prefer using private channels and may not use Twitter, but adding it will win you some new followers providing you offer good timely support through it. 63. Integrate Twitter with Your VideosPeople love to watch videos. Creating video tutorials for your area of expertise is a great way to get exposure for yourself, and your Twitter presence. Place your Twitter username in various places in the video, and you can even use a watermark or video annotation so that your twitter username is constantly visible. If you have a YouTube channel make sure to include a link to your twitter profile on your channel page. Offline Strategies for Getting More Twitter Followers64. Rent a BillboardIf you are really ambitious, rent a billboard and put your Twitter name on it. This is what Ashton Kutcher did when he was racing against CNN to be the first to 1,000,000 followers. This strategy worked for Ashton and I'm sure it could work for you too if you have a few thousand dollars to cover the cost. 65. Word of MouthTell your friends and relatives to follow you on Twitter. Bring Twitter up in person when you are chatting with people. If the people you are talking to active on Twitter convince them to follow you, or if they are not on Twitter convince them to join. 66. Speak at ConferencesWhile most people already know that speaking at conferences is great for business, many people forget to promote their social media accounts through this platform. The next time you're giving a presentation at a seminar or conference remember to mention your Twitter account! Create a presentation #Hashtag and encourage attendees to tweet about your talk for best results. If you are using presentation software or an on-screen image during your speech, display your username on screen. If your audience likes what you have to say, they may just follow you later! You can even host the conference yourself, including your Twitter information on conference tickets and tweet the events as they happen. When it comes to live events, the sky is the limit! 67. Put Your Twitter Name on Your Business CardTwitter promotion does not have to be limited to the online world. Include your Twitter name right on your business card you will be able to get several new followers. Don't have your Twitter username on your business cards yet? Host a TweetupMost of the time, offline strategies involve people finding you offline and connecting with you online afterwards. Tweetups allow you the opportunity to connect with Twitter users in person, even if you have never met before. Because the group of Twitter users that meet is often diverse you will likely gain at least a few new followers from a tweetup. You can start a tweetup simply by asking around your circle of twitter followers. Offer to host the event at a coffee shop, restaurant, or even your office. Create a dedicated web page or blog post for the event, a hashtag (for example, #mytweetup) so that users can follow the event, and encourage tweeters to share with their friends and followers as well. You can gain large amounts of exposure from something this simple! 69. Do a Radio InterviewMuch like speaking at conferences, radio interviews are a great way to get attention. Whether through AM/FM, satellite, or Blog Talk Radio, the interviews can be used to gain some positive and wildly popular PR. To be interviewed on the radio you need to position yourself as an expert. Watch your local stations for requests (they often publish them via social media,) list yourself in expert directories, and even contact the station directly and ask if they have any upcoming opportunities for experts. While you won't have a visual medium to display your Twitter account, repeating your Twitter username a few times during your interview can help you gain new followers. You can also use your interview time to promote contests and upcoming events through your Twitter feed, which is sure to get you some new followers in no time at all! 70. Newspaper Interviews and ArticlesIf you can somehow tie your business or industry to a current event, it can be easy to get an article in the traditional press that includes your information. You can distribute your own article via press release, or make yourself available for expert interviews through directories and by approaching the media directly. If you have the resources, hiring a public relations firm can be a great help with this. They can get you expert interviews in many newspapers and national publications, and because of their existing relationship with the editor, you will often be allowed to include a bit more company information than the average submission. If you don't have the resources (or just prefer DIY methods), write a compelling press release that ties your business to a current event. Distribute it to the local media, and call to follow up. Create a media kit or press kit for distribution when someone asks for information about you and your business. Getting interviews in traditional press isn't difficult for a small business owner, but it does take an investment of time and some persistence. When you do gain some media exposure, while most companies are just now beginning to include links to their website in the article, you can include links to social media accounts like Twitter to get new followers and exposure for your expertise. 71. Attend Networking EventsIf you run a business, you likely have a local networking event that you do or can attend. Publicizing your Twitter profile at events like these through your business cards, stickers, and stamps can gain you a large number of targeted Twitter followers very quickly! Be sure to offer an incentive for following you, such as free reports, discounts, or updates. 72. Give Away a Free eBookFew things say "I'm an expert" like being an author. While print titles still have more clout with traditional audiences, eBooks like those for Kindle and other e-readers are gaining popularity. If you're looking to establish yourself as an expert, traditional publishing houses may get you the most notoriety, but self-publishing with a good public relations agent can get you similar results today. Being sure to include your social media links – including Twitter – is a great way to allow readers to connect with your expertise after reading your book. Start by offering your Twitter ID on the inside front cover, where many bookstore shoppers will look for your bio; then include your information on the back cover, in the introduction, and throughout the book. If you are willing to think outside of the box, you can even include your Twitter ID in the footer of every page. Even if they don't follow you immediately after reading the book, they will subconsciously recognize your account in the future and be more willing to follow you if they come across your name again. Several prominent social media celebrities even use Twitter to launch subsequent titles, so don't overlook the possibilities here. The opportunities are endless! 73. Research and Publish a ReportReports and white papers are still an essential form of communication for industries and markets around the globe. If you have any data or research to share, or even just helpful ideas, publishing a report or whitepaper can successfully get you the attention of industry leaders, media, and yes – social media. You can get your white papers and reports distributed by trade magazine distributors across North America, which will often give you the customers' information. Offer the report or whitepaper on your own website, as well as on Twitter itself. You may find that the link to your report gets retweeted, getting you valuable exposure! As with other forms of offline publishing, be sure to utilize your author's bio and include links to Twitter and other profiles. 74. Magazine ArticlesLike newspaper articles, magazine articles can get you great attention from readers and potential customers. Unlike newspapers, however, they can be much longer in length, explain things in much more depth, and offer more opportunities for promotion. Go to the website for your favorite industry magazine and look for a link to their publishing schedule. There, magazines will list topics that they are going to be covering in the coming months. If you feel you can contribute to one of these topics, contact the editor with a proposal for your article. Do not send the whole article! Editors need a quick glance to determine if your content will be worthy, before approving you to begin work. The great thing about working with magazines is that in certain circumstances, you can even get paid for your submission. How many opportunities do you have that allow your advertising to pay you? Magazine editors will typically allow for a longer author's bio, offer more opportunities for promotion, and may even extend offers for inexpensive advertising in exchange for your contribution. 75. Use a Quick Response (QR) CodeThere are several services online that allow you to create quick response or QR codes. These codes are simple square barcodes that are gaining massive popularity with smartphone users, as they can be used to direct any phone to a specific web address just by taking a picture. Create a QR code that links to your Twitter profile, and put it up everywhere – on your website, on your business cards, on any signage outside of your office or store, or anywhere else you can think of that might attract enough attention to be worth a snapshot. Set aside a few minutes each day to help spark conversation with people in your network. Share their content and spark conversation around common interests. Get to know your followers better and help them out if you can. Identify the keywords that matter the most to your business and use Twitter search to find people tweeting about the topics that matter the most to you. Follow people back when the connection is relevant and this will help you retain the followers you have since there are free tools like Manage Flitter make it easy to mass unfollow people who don't follow you. The content you share also plays a pivotal role in your Twitter success. Share the kind of content you wish other people would tweet about. For best results create your own content (ideally on your own WordPress blog) even if it is just list posts and compilations of content from other people. How to Get More Followers and Multiply Your SuccessGetting more Twitter followers is more of a challenge but it gets easier as you go since the more followers you have the more your momentum and social proof will make it easy for you to take your network to the next level.
